Water and History: The U.S. and the Netherlands

Our project looks at the challenge of climate change by comparing and contrasting the histories of the United States and the Netherlands. Dutch history developed around water and the need to control it, leading to a society built around the need to collaborate. The United States developed a strong individualistic ethic. The Netherlands today is leading the world in developing for-profit approaches to managing climate change.
